I purchased a new spring from Ofrei and although the ref. TI-1504 bracelet clasp on the ref. 2298.80 appears to utilize a spring different than the OP's bracelet, the replacement procedure is identical. Using the instructions, pictures that still worked and tips in this thread I had it replaced in about five minutes. I would like to get an Omega 1498/840 bracelet with moderate stretch tightened. I suspect the pins are a bit worn. I see many recommendations (on IG and other forums) for Rolex bracelets. Rollieworks, etc are unpinning the bracelets, cleaning, repairing as required, and repinning with new pins.
